Was that from the breakwall?
Pier .... I had a small slip on the Apollo breakwall a little while back and lost my nerve. There are very limited spots on that break wall for landing anything if you get a decent hookup.

Apollo Bay - Sun 09/01

Apollo Bay - Sun 09/01 - 0300 -- > 0900 hrs High Tide 05.30am (ish) , Wind ~5kn SSE, very cloudy, no moon. I had a mind to do a quick sprint down to Apollo late on Saturday night to catch the morning tide. Conditions ended up being pleasantly calm with a small ocean swell pushing through, though the...

Re: Shhhh!

Most guys who use to post he regularly ,don't post anymore cause of negative feedback ect Shame really. Speaking for myself, I'll confess that my own lack of posts has been a result of my absolutely woeful (take home) catch rate during past 12+ months. Granted for the land-based folk it might be wo...

Re: Sorrento Ocean Beach - Koonya Beach ?

Try at the bottom of Pearse road in Rye, just park the car and walk over the little hill and you will see the rocks and also some big rock pools which have some good fish in t...

Re: Sorrento Ocean Beach - Koonya Beach ?

Can't hurt to wander down and scope it out... I'll give it 30 mins at sun-up or on the high tide, if I lose a set of tackle I'll chalk it up as a lesson.... My strike rate on the PBB side during the past month has been terrible ( only banjos, small pinkies, and a some passable salmon ) so was hoping...

Sorrento Ocean Beach - Koonya Beach ?

Folks, Friends and I shall be spending a few days at Sorrento this coming weekend and I would like to use the opportunity to try fishing the ocean side of the Peninsular. Can anyone comment on the fish-ability of the ocean side of Sorrento...particularly near to Koonya Beach (closest to our accommod...

Re: Landbased advice

Cool, thanks for the tip. It's there anything in the barwon heads direction? ditto what the other folk have said.... Barwon has plenty of options. My only addition would be to aim for wetting the line just either side of the tide changes. When the tide is in full swing the flow rate can be wicked f...
