Mornington Pier 10/07/18
Was planning to have a crack at some squid alike quite a few other fishos there but didn't see a single one caught today(8am-3pm). Bit weird considering how the rest of the bay seems to be doing quite well for squid. Very few people bait fishing the main pier, nothing caught as well. The small jetty...

Re: Recent squid catches
Went to Mornington yesterday, heaps of people going for squid and they were even catching them in the middle of the day. If you go there i saw a few caught from the fisherman’s jetty. The guy snorkeling told me that the squid were “everywhere”. Good luck

I’ve heard yams work ok in places where the fish know that it is edible but to be sure I’d probably go with sweet corn and worms.Texas wrote:Are yams good for fishing ?????Boonanza wrote:Maybe they just need a rootfrozenpod wrote:Lots of anti fishing people live in the area.

Re: Advice welcome
I technically live in Karkarook lake and please give me a heads up if you see me! (small Japanese dude with a yellow or red cap) If you just want to catch trout without much effort, a running sinker with a small sinker and a size 10 hook has worked extremely well for me. The baits I used to use was...

Re: The Fishing Victoria Pet Section
I own a couple colonies of ants( hoping to get a bull ant queen next year) and a carp in a tiny pond I dug out.
(one of my irydomyrmex bicknelli colonies, the small black ones you see on the ground, not the ones that come inside your house)

Re: Warmies on fire! 100+ fish caught
Well last week I was down at the warmies flicking around with soft plastics when I saw a fella at the end of the rock wall catching a few fish. I headed up there and me ... that fella... and his friend ended up catching well over 100 Tailor on metal slugs over a 2 hour period. It was hecktic and af...
