Re: New SA built Sharpcraft
I agree with the 50K, as I've just realised the price advertised doesn't include trailer. Makes some second hand boats look very cheap. I could get a lot more boat for 50K than what that boat would represent. No wonder second hand boats don't lose value and no wonder a lot of boat manufacturers are ...

Re: New SA built Sharpcraft
Looks a nice boat, but jeez these things are becoming expensive!
By the time you get an electronics package and all the things you need to make it what you want, there will be no change out of 40k minimum for a 4.7 metre boat.

Re: Rod advice
Maybe the top end Shimano rods are OK, but the mid price graphite ( and I mean $100 min) rods are rubbish quality. I have had 7 rods break under medium pressure and no high sticking in 4 years. Will not go there again. No argument with their reels. All price points seem to be exactly what you would ...

Re: gummy braid
Where are you fishing and what rod and reel are you using? Westernport has lots of Eagle Rays, skates and smooth rays that will have you fighting for a long time if your gear isn't up to it. If using braid you will also need to use a mono leader to resist the rough skin of some of the big critters o...

Re: Best way to preserve salmon for bait
Freezer burn happens when the flesh is exposed to air. That is why the vacuum sealing is such a good thing - no contact with oxygen.

Re: TLD 2000 drag 'sticking'
The initial sticking might be caused by not having drag off during storage. Just have the clicker on and release the lever. That goes for all reels.

Re: Is it possible to repair a car tyre
Like most things in life, looks can be deceiving. There is a reason why temporary plugs are just that - temporary. Steel belts can be damaged or frayed, beads can be damaged and sidewalls can be structurally weakened. Add to this, unknown tyre pressures and running conditions and you have the potent...

Re: Fish ID Required
Not a pleasant tasting fish. Very strong iodine taste if not cleaned immediately after capture.

They are certainly not humans!
