Re: Landbased advice

Cool, thanks for the tip. It's there anything in the barwon heads direction?

Landbased advice

I'm going to be spending a few days at Torquay and was wondering if there is any jetties in the area where one can dangle a line? Or is of the beach the only real land based option apart from spring creek?

Thanks.

A bit of action on the Yarra

With the warm weather and some time off I took the kids down the Yarra one morning. Within 5 mins of my Son's line in the water, before I got mine in, he had hooked up a ~45cm carp. I am surprised his little collapsible rod didn't just explode! Eventually I got my rod and my daughters in the water a...

Re: Suburban reddies

They are some nice looking reddies. I'm yet to find one in suburbia though. Last one I caught was up at Warburton. It is 99% carp in the yarra in Melbourne.

Re: draining lake mulwala in april

You should be able to walk out there and see what gets caught in the lagoons. Hopefully no natives, but carp are welcome to get trapped, as they dry up. Lake Hume gets quite low most years, and this is what happens there. Otherwise, I expect most other fish will get concentrated in the river channel...

Re: Yarra through warburton

Correction! I threw a sp around this evening and managed to catch this reddy @ 27cm. First fish on a sp! Will make a tasty brekky.

Re: Yarra through warburton

To be honest, I have barely got out. No luck, just on worms one evening. I still have a couple days left.

Re: Yarra through warburton

I'm heading up this way for Easter and would appreciate any advice on accessible areas. Happy to catch anything, but would prefer trout. Or maybe my first Blackfish?
