Re: Still Using Old Rods??

My dad introduced me to fishing in the late 70's. He has now passed but I still take out his rod and reel with me every-time and fish with his gear and the same rod and reel he bought for me at the time. As far as I am concerned, the fish dont care what is above the water, they only care about what ...

Re: NEMA 2000 compatibility

The data format is standard. However connectors are not. Nor is the data transmitted or received. The software in each piece if equipment determines what data it transmits or receives . So check your connector types and read the specs of each item. Then decide if it is worth the bother Good advice....

Re: Some Boat Launch & Retrieve Training

I am not sure if Charlie is still doing it but he used to take people out on their own boats. No idea what it is like. https://www.savageseasadventures.com.au/ If I was you, sit yourself down on the table and chair next to ramp 2 at Patto. I will learn everything you need to learn in a few hours by ...

Re: Small Tool Kit for Boat

Are any of these a good start??? Everyone will have their own opinions but for me...the 2nd one is more than enough. On a trailer boat, it is very unlikely you need anything more heavy duty than this. Ie....you wont be pulling the engine down in PPB. I carry probably somewhere between pic 1 and pic...

Re: Small Tool Kit for Boat

Although I do remember one time a drunken chick damaging a cavity slider on a house boat I was on. Had to take the entire thing apart which involved unscrewing screws that had been stopped up and painted. It’s amazing how effective a plaster made from eggwhite mixed with protein powder can be at pa...

Re: Small Tool Kit for Boat

I carry a screw driver set, a few shifters, spare electrical wire, spare fuses, a spanner set, electrical tester I carry exactly the same as smile. I work on the theory if I need more than this then I have a serious problem that cannot be fixed on the water. I always thought the spare wire is handy...

Re: Dual Battery Setup and Battery Charging

Do you mean house battery to run all your electronics from and extras like a fridge? Yes. Typical day, sounder, VHF (listen do not transmit), FM radio are running all the time off the house. They all pull around 1 amp each so stuff all. Fridge I hardly use now as I cant be bothered taking it in and...
