Re: Which is better?
Also, you'll need to look it up in the lowrance manuals as I don't use that brand but you should be able to connect the head units through the NMEA inputs/outputs so you can send waypoints from the sounder to your GPS

Re: Which is better?
I would leave the current transducer setup as is. Mount the other transducer for the new unit on the other side of the hull in the same position. That way you have two functioning sounders, one as a backup. That's what I did. Take out the compass and mount the head units side by side, then Mount the...

Re: Willy-Altona-St.Kilda Snapper Report
Yep! Turned out that it wasn't anything serious. The rope had come loose from the drum so was just spinning on itself. Got it sorted pretty quickly :thumbsup:Mattblack wrote:Nice report...was that your new anchor winch that broke?

Re: Willy-Altona-St.Kilda Snapper Report
Thanks all!
Here's another one I picked up this morning out near Fawkner Beacon. Rod actually buckled when the cops were writing me a ticket for having a flat battery in my torch then told me I better go in... so trip cut short. Ah well.

Willy-Altona-St.Kilda Snapper Report
Gday All, So after a pretty frustrating trip on Sunday where my anchor winch broke, barely wet a line, a guy nearly crashed into my boat at 30 knots and a 2 hour boat retrieval, was looking for a trip turnaround this morning. With conditions looking ideal a pre-work fish was on the cards! Got down t...

Re: Electrics Question (Curly one!)
Yeah they are a great little device, without it you have to mark on the furuno then enter the waypoint manually in the GPS. The menu layout of fishfinders and GPS in general are cumbersome, and if you are fishing alone stuffing around trying to do that whilst skippering the boat and keeping an eye o...

Re: Electrics Question (Curly one!)
Hey Boys, thanks for all your help and suggestions. Fixed! I think it just came done to the Furuno draining voltage when on water using transducer as was suggested. I took the Furuno out of the equation wiring it through the mains, then wired the Garmin and Markfish separately. Didn't make a differe...

Although the drawing you have is supplied from somewhere So we do not over confuse the situation there is no Neutral cable in this scenario as the voltages are all DC so it's only + or -. Something ...
