Bait fishing for me at Gunna tomorrow. Three months since I wet a line. Nasty illness and renovations slowed me up.
Back on track and free time is more available again. Just some salmon will do me. New reel to try is a bonus.

Yup warehou, I concur. That band is pretty distinctive.
Also the Black banded trevally or Blackbanded amberjack are not found in our waters

It does indeed look like Seriolina nigrofasciata - Black banded trevally or Blackbanded amberjack
Congratulations, rare catch.
Sounds like it went hard, like all the Seriolina/ Seriola's do

If we’re going to introduce another non-native predatory fish can we please please introduce American Largemouth bass, now THAT is a sport fish.
If it’s all about money just think of how much that will bring in? Millions I tell ya.

Not sure if you guys are aware of the project AGL has started at Crib Point without an environmental impact study. Hell they haven’t even been given formal permission by government for this. As part of the project HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of litres of seawater will be used DAILY, sterilised and chlorina...
