How much experience have you had shark fishing ? it's not just sending out a balloon bait, to be successful you need lots of burley the right wind and can take hours or days to lure a shark in close enough to take your bait, any seaside resort pier is always busy at holiday time. Hi all, how's fishing lately? Recently I haven't been able to catch a thing! not even a carp.
However I'm still not giving up and currently planning to go shark fishing soon at Lorne. big question is that is it crowded on the pier at night?

No way man, join the facebook page "surf and offshore fishing 90 mile beach" theres some crazy sharks (bronzies and the like) caught on there, majority run an 80w with 24kg mono or braid with a 200lb or so windon for the last part. Can you point us to an academic source for this 100lbs of drag pressure? And as far as line, go a kilometre of either 15kg or 24kg line rather than that crazily heavy (line capacity is far more important and with a big shark your never going to be able to just reef it in like any other fish, the ty...
