Re: What is the most important thing you'd spend $$$ on?
Spend your money on something that could save your life. Invest in a PLB, (Personal Location Beacon) Most of us at sometime or another can end up in some remote places and if you end up in difficulties there's going to be no-one around to help. In my part of the world mobile phones are pretty much u...

10 million fish across Victoria
Vic Fisheries are going gangbusters right now with their fish raising and restocking of natives across Victoria. Their target is to stock with at least 10,000,000 fish a year. I'm curious to know the survival rate of these stocked fish or are the newly stocked fry and fingerlings merely providing fo...

Old School Bream Fishing
I haven't posted much in the last twelve months or so, not that I haven't fished much but more so that I've been lazy about posting. It's been a strange year in the Snowy system. We've had flood after flood culminating in a major flood early in November. Lots of dirty water and cold water temperatur...

Who Needs A Headlamp?
Headlamps are handy for fishing at night.

Re: Dead Whale @ Snowy River
Update.
The whale has drifted back into the estuary on this mornings tide.
It is slowly drifting down to Frenches Narrows.
It'll be interesting to see if any toothies have followed it in.

Dead Whale @ Snowy River
A large dead whale drifted into the Snowy Estuary on this mornings high tide and drifted out again this afternoon on the runout. It was drifting down the coast in an easterly direction. Depending on where and when it gets washed up on the beach there's a strong likelihood that there'll be an increas...

Shark Bait Sorted
The recent floods in the Snowy has made the fishing hard work but but now that river levels are receding the fishing is picking up again. One very noticeable change in the Snowy is the large numbers of eels that are on the chew. Some of them are monsters. A session this afternoon produced a steady s...

Re: Lake Tyers
The breakout has started. What was just a small trickle at noon is now getting bigger and bigger and a steady run out is beginning to gain some momentum.
Interesting to watch. Just google lake tyers beach cam.

Re: Lake Tyers
There was a chance that a Tyers breakout might have happened last night, but it didn't.
Locals are having an each way bet that Tyers may breakout on tonight's high tide. (Just before 9.00pm)

Re: Lake Tyers
Since I can't go fishing I've been watching the water level rise in Lake Tyers thanks to the Caravan Park webcam. From my vantage point a few hundred k's away it looks like another break out could be close. To any of you watching from any closer, what do you think? There's a good chance of a break ...
