A question
Hello all, I just wondering if it is legal to use under size flatheads for Bait, I was on the water today and run out of Pilchards I did not use any undersize but I though about it...?

Nice job mate......and I just discover that after been told so many time that this fish was crap to eat that in fact if well taken care of it they are absolutely Beautiful and versatile table fish

Steamed...place the fish in a semi deep pan, with spices and herbs, maybe some tomato or other, place in the steamer until just cooked...( the steam will become a fantastic sauce)....Learned that with CVietnamese peoples :victory:

Often I seen them very close to the shore......to shallow for my boat ( do not like take risk ).adamk wrote:gave it a crack from the pier 1:30 would have been better they where ar millers rd by 3pm

I have the saltwater X-Rap ...and also some cheap lures ( Jarvis walker ) , I think these salmons will attack anything that moveFishydave wrote:Well done, what type of lure worked for you mate?

Fishing report,
Went fishing this morning from Altona to Point cook for squids....3 hours for 7 squids than decide to go home , when arriving at Altona we can see the birds diving and the water boiling :super: ...took the lure and we managed 33 Salmons ( between 800g and 1 Kg each ) in about 2 hours of frenzie :a_g...

The Japanese eat them I think a delicacy but it have to be prepared by a highly trained chef :fish22:
