Re: Casting a baitcaster reel
I actually learnt to cast overhead reels in 1979 with one of these it's a dolphin olympic 614
it's actually a trolling reel now I went through a LOT of line back then haha even a cheap bait caster is easy.- Fri Apr 19, 2024 2:21 pm

Re: Casting a baitcaster reel
Hunt around and see if you can find a tatula 100 I bought one after a 20 year hiatus from bait casters and all I can say is if you puck up its your fault. I even bought a tatula rod , the rod and reel is a fishing machine with Taylor. Screenshot_20240418_235211_Gallery_copy_1280x597.jpg Screenshot_2...

Re: Casting a baitcaster reel
Yep I will only use the daiwa mag reels .
I have used the shimano but daiwa really knows how to make a bait caster without trying to bamboozle you with crap and I'm a shimano bloke or was the last 5 or 6 rells I have bought were DAIWA just because the have a lower gear ratio .

Re: Animal welfare act
I was a member of several shooting organisations 10+years ago and we warned quite a few fishing organisations and 4x4 clubs this attack was coming they just scoffed at it and said it will only be shooters they go after.

Re: Offshore Lakes Entrance
Well the stars alined today for me so I left Paynesville at 15:30 and headed to the 6mile mark on the reef as I have been busting to try these cheap kabura jigs and yep they work :sr: Screenshot_20240417_204907_Gallery_copy_1024x2196.jpg Screenshot_20240417_204928_Gallery_copy_1024x2196.jpg 3 of the...

Re: Daiwa td black 4000 dc
6.2:1 I like spinning off the beach and casting to salmon and Skippy's out of the boat but for using plastics for snapper on the reef and pulling gummys off the sand 5.2:1 is good. I find the best reel I have is my shimano bio master SWAPG 5000 at 4.8:1 I also find the lower gear ratio lasts longer ...

Re: Daiwa td black 4000 dc
I did purchase 1 for $198 delivered. I am yet to use it.
I prefer the lower gear ratio or I would have bought another stradic I honestly don't understand shamano's fascination with high Ratio reels
