A month or 2 ago I've caught a similar species at Portarlington, land based, on whiting rig. It was around 50-60cm. First I thought it was some sort of sea snake but with little investigation on the net with much clear picture and video I've found out it was "Shorthead Worm Eel"! Apparentl...

It was certainly great entertainment. I've missed the full on session like that. Finished product, ready to devour with some extra seafood like garlic prawns, mussels in sauce, oysters, scallop potatoes and rocket salad :)

Port Welshpool report

Spend last night (07-07-17) at Port Welshpool jety. There was an insane amount of tailor around. Also barracuda and yellow tail scad. 4 of us probably caught 70-80 fish in total. Nah mate, I don't do scuba diving, only free diving and that's not as often as I would like to!

Went to Aireys Inlet on last Saturday for bit of family fun at beach and bit of spearing. Dived between 2 to 10 meters without much success, visibility was very poor, around 2-3 metres and very strong current/ undertow! :down: Seen few rubbish reef fish and very few under size crayfish.
