Seeing all the Carp swim around, should be real easy to catch them. :)

I'm after Redfin, so I'll give some weedless SP lures a shot next time. Losing two spinning lures in two cast is a new record.

Re: Mill Parks Lakes - South Morang

Spent some time walking around the Lakes today, with a rod and 2 lures to get them wet. Wasn't expecting much... Went to the lake next to the Great Eastern as suggested, gobsmacked! The place is full of Carp! They would come right up to the bank, swimming slowly back and forth. I threw my lures at t...

Re: Mill Parks Lakes - South Morang

Thanks guys for the tips, I didn't know about that one @Boonanza, have to give it a shot. Looking at Google Map, the lake before the bridge on The Lakes Blvd seems to have heaps of weeds, seems more natural than the bigger area where all the ducks are at. I'll give it a crack next time and report ba...

Mill Parks Lakes - South Morang

Been seeing frequent fishos around the walk way at this lake right next to houses and shops. Lots of ducks, birds (fishers), including some huge pelicans!

Anyone with exp at this area, any tips?

Re: Report?

I've have very little luck around the St. Kilda area in recent times, its pretty cold and no bites, other fishos get no bites too. So try your luck elsewhere I reckon, maybe down Brighton or Mordi..

Re: Sabiki rigs good for landbased/piers?

I tested the small Sabiki on the tiny baitfish around Altona pier, those guys avoided it like the plague... so clearly the little ones have zero interest and prolly feed on plankton. :D

I'll test it again targeting bigger baitfish somewhere else next time.

Re: Around Williamstown or Altona landbased, good for Salmon

I got Land based Guide for Port Phillip and Corio Bays a couple of days ago that's why I was interested in these areas as its relatively close. Thanks for the extra tips, I love catching Flathead, they cook really well! Weather was great, very calm, sunny, I enjoyed the fresh air more than the un-ev...

Re: Around Williamstown or Altona landbased, good for Salmon

Went to both the rockwalls next to Williamstown and Altona pier, ~2 hours each place. Got nothing at the rockwall, just snag and lost a lure. At the pier, got a flathead and a leather jacket. Tons of tiny baitfish were all around the pier but nothing bigger, a few snapper fishos were on boats nearby...
