Re: Comfortable pfd

I've got an RFD Sirocco which isn't too bad to wear when fishing but its only 100n, anything 150n or more will be pretty bulky if not an inflatable type.

Re: split grip vs full grip rods

Ugly Stik SP761 LFT, 7'6" single piece, has a light, whippy action great for whiting but with plenty of beef if needed and good size grips.

Re: Garmin 551s

Looks like you have done a fair bit of work on your boat over winter....looking forward to seeing some action shots this season! Yes there's a few new additions, I love playing in the boat when it's too miserable to take it out but it gets expensive. Next on the list is Tef-Gelling every screw, nut...

Re: Show us your purchases!

Bad news for my physiotherapist... I finally found someone good and convenient to put an anchor winch in (Lone Star GX1) Thanks to Trumpeter for putting me onto John and the guys at Mainline Marine in Williamstown, really happy with their friendly & honest service. Lone Star GX1.jpg Looks great...

Along with a thorough flushing after each trip, I spray mine inside and out with Lannox.

Re: Boating at night

The main worries are other boats not seeing you and if going solo, falling overboard. Have bright, all-round lighting and wear a harness/lanyard.

Re: Alvey Reels Australia Closing Down

They were the first ever fishing reels I can remember using, my Grandpa's cedar boat reels with the little picture of the Snapper with a big hump on the side plate.

Re: Picked up again

Oh well, too windy on the w/end again anyway, good excuse to stay in front of the fire.
