Blairgowrie - 07 August 2015 (night time squid sesh)

Hit Blairgowrie pier around 9PM for a little squid sesh, bagged 6 plus a little octopus. First was nice, 35 cm hood, the rest were smallish but still good :)

One of my favourite places mate! Usually stay at chinamans creek, directly across from there is a rockwall where I've caught some great sized flatties in very shallow water. Bream on the flats during the day and Arvo in close to the pylons pretty much everywhere. Great place! Sent from my iPhone usi...

Re: General Reel Maintenance

Cheers, there isn't any issue with using Daiwa grease on non Daiwa reels is there? Probably a stupid question but I wouldn't put it past reel manufacturers to have some proprietary component that requires some ultra specific lube. Lol no mate it's good on any reel! Nah mate all good most of my reel...

Re: General Reel Maintenance

As an oil, anything lanolin based is fine. You can buy lanolin based oils at tackle stores marketed as reel oil. Just make sure you never use WD 40 or similar. As far as grease goes, I generally buy the Daiwa reel grease which is great. With mid to high quality reels, you won't have to grease very o...

Re: Beach & Pier fishing in Winter

Yeah it's really about adjusting your setup and bait choices (or lure choices) for specific species which are 'in season' for lack of a better term. Additional to the above - silver trevally around Blairgowrie or flinders, on sp's or pippi/squid combo. Always flatties about too. Sent from my iPhone ...
