Lake Eildon

Hey all, I'm heading up to Eildon soon ( tomorrow maybe) and would appreciate everyone's latest thoughts on how to fish Lake Eildon. I mean what bait, or what lures. I'm not really a fresh water fisho, but since i'll be there, and i'll take my boat, i may as well drop a line. I'll be around the Dela...

Re: Queenscliff Boat ramp.

If you follow the betterboating link within the shipmate link in my first post it mentions improvement of the boat engine flush facility- so I'm happy. Maybe the first shipmate link is a 1st stage of the end result ? Ok so I'm still waking up after night shift, but now I see there are 2 options list...

Queenscliff Boat ramp.

Always good when there’s talk of an upgrade, generally. See here - https://www.shipmate.com.au/news/design-released-for-new-queenscliff-boat-ramp/ I could be sceptical but there’s a lot of line marking and shuffling of the existing parking bays. Turning a grass area into an solid ashphalt or whateve...

Re: The BEST deck cleaner!

My own experience is similar to yours, I've tried a few "deck cleaners" and found bleach liquid, soak time and get your back into it with a short stiff deck broom is the best outcome. Obviously rinse well and be careful where it goes. Some stains or marks are worth a buff. There's also a use for a c...

Re: Through the heads and cruising Bass Strait

Thanks for the advice guys about getting out through the Rip ... very helpful. What I was really trying to get info about was your experiences of what it's like out in Bass Strait AFTER getting through the Heads. I have a 7 metre Merry Fisher. Anyone care to share their experiences? Cheers Kestrel ...

Re: So many boats out!

Queenscliff - I got there before 6am yesterday after almost a 2 hour drive to get there and there was less than 10 boats out. Came back to the ramp bedlam at 3 pm. Wait in line on the water to dock. Wait in the line behind about 12 others with the trailer to retrieve. I was solo for the day to. Luck...

Re: Is Fishing Allowed under newest lockdown measures

Obviously the advice to Victorians in every media platform possible about non essential activity the last week is falling on deaf ears.
Just went and logged into the Altona boat ramp car park camera - looks chockas to me.
All doing essential boating of course.
