Re: Retrieve etiquette
From my perspective, at public boat ramps there is no etiquette with respect to retrieve priority. The etiquette is the car queue. Eg even if someone gets back at the pier after you but gets their car first and they are first in the queue then that is the way it is. And as you say, the person that r...

Re: Corner Inlet Entrance - when's slack tide?
I'll give a long answer, in return for the good info I get when I search the history of this site - there is some good information. Due to Covid etc I haven't fished down at Welshpool for years so have forgotten the currents, behaviours etc. Please - if you a local and I say something wrong - correc...

Re: Patterson river mouth
Hi bugeater, Big plus for practising launching the boat when it is not busy - thank you! :-) I wish more would do this. As bad luck would have it, you seem to have picked one of the worse possible times to exit Patto...... As mentioned above, the winds were onshore (Westerly) and not insignificant. ...

Re: Corner Inlet Entrance - when's slack tide?
Thanks rb85, Decided I'm going to go down Monday morning. Offshore to the Islands. I'm not going to get down there by the early morning flood slack. It's a big tide, fairly modest westerly/Sth Westerly, low swell and I'll probably go through when the ebb current's ripping out. Haven't been there for...

Corner Inlet Entrance - when's slack tide?
Hi All,
Just wondering how to time slack tide (eg no tidal flow) at Corner Inlet entrance? Is Port Welshpool high/low tide a good marker to predict it?
Thanks,
Philn

Buying new boat trailer - recommendations?
Hi folks, My 22 year old dual axel trailer needs to go.... (Not bad given the constant salt water use). I need to buy a new dual axel one for a 5.75M glass boat ASAP. Fully rollered. I want to support local biz. as much as possible. There seems at least two key local companies - one has very long le...

Re: anyone getting salmon?
Only usually fish the ocean (in a boat). Getting soft in my old age - I don't fish it even in the slightest southerly. Soooo - reliving a long past with my dad I thought why not try flicking some metal at this "famous beach" Gunnamatta (Went for a flick at Kilcunda a couple of weeks ago and blitz it...

Re: Boating ethics
Depends..... Channels with current (WPB or Sth PPB) - it is never ok to anchor in someone's burley trail. On either side - not so bad Nth PPB in snapper season its normal (no current). RIP or some places offshore drifting during Kingfish season - its normal Anyone that anchors just behind you in you...
