Re: The great 'monster' trout debate!

Went up to the Thornton the other weekend, not only did i not catch a 12lb pond fish, but all the wild trout seemed to have shut down.

Re: Surf fishing attire

Boot waders with thick woolen socks on over jeans and thermals if required. Usually does the job for me just gotta be careful not to get hit by a wave.

Re: Worms & Trout

Need a bit more information on the river, depends on the flow and the depth you could remove the split shot sinker and go unweighted. Have a look around see if you can find any other insects that could be used as bait. Find the most likely sections of water i.e at the end of fast moving water where ...

Re: Blue Lake, Plenty Gorge

Dragging up an old thread, but i finally decided to give Blue Lake a crack with the nice weather on Sunday, absolute stunning lake great spot for swimming in the summer. Had 2 rods in the water with worms on the hook, didn't even get a touch in the 4 hours i was there, had the shrimp net in the wate...

Cuttlefish Bone Bag/Possession Limit

The bag/possession limit for Cuttlefish is 10.
Does this apply to Cuttlefish bones taken from the beach?
I have birds that love them, but i don't want to get myself in trouble for taking too many at a time.
Cheers

Boat or landbased? If boat Werribee area is probably your best option, not sure if the whiting have turned up yet or not.

Re: Trout?

Plenty of options around for you mate, the Yarra at Warburton might be a start, otherwise around Healesville. Don't have any secret spots for you, just use google maps find a creek/river with an access point and give it a go. Not sure what you plan on fishing (lures or bait), but its a good time to ...

Re: Trout Season Opening Bright + Goulburn 9th & 10th (latest post)

Good to see you're still getting a few trout... Not a good idea jumping in a river with your waders on either.. Maybe okay if it's shallow water, but too risky in deeper cold water.. take care on the rivers mate, we want to keep reading your trout reports... cheers Adrian Was as an adrenaline fuele...

Re: Trout Season Opening Bright

Instead of starting a new thread thought i might just update this one. Went up to the Goulburn around Thornton on the weekend, with plenty of success on the trout once again. Between 4 of us caught about 30 trout over the weekend. Most of the fish fell to worms, tried a lot of different lures, but l...
