Tathra would be your best bet for land based options.
Bega river has good access near the mouth, Nelson’s is a cool spot that I have always done well at. And then there is the main jetty that you can pretty much catch anything from.

With the wind and weed being bad and especially when I have days off I have only used it once. But I loved it, cast a mile and feels solid in the hand but also pretty light. Well it is compared to the old glass fishing rod I had. Actually that rod caught 5 gummy’s when we went so was stoked

I hooked one last Saturday out of the yak in lakes so I definitely know there in there. Not sure how far down they are but by the reports I would be giving it a shot mate

I would happily fish a 10 foot rod off a bermagui beach all night long Col. But yes you are right Victoria is different and doesn’t have those nice flat deep beaches like nsw. I find the longer the road the easier you can keep your line out of the wash down here in vic. I like to sit and enjoy a bee...
