Re: PPB finding arches
120 deg is huge, 25 deg is normal for salt water with upto 60 deg.
That will show massive arches.
I sound for them in PPB I wouldn't stop to fish unless I found a school of snapper with my sounder in November.

Re: PPB finding arches
What is the transduce beam width in degrees.
Depending on the beam width some transducers will show snapper as arches whilst others will show blobs.

Re: Stacer 469 outlaw
It is a old general rule of thumb that is still very applicable today.
Sure you can go in a smaller boat but the risk is higher and the number of days with suitable weather is much less.
If you plan on doing this regularly buy a bigger boat.

Re: Recommendations for 5 to 6 metre aluminium boat to buy
Hi Frozenpod, Thank you for your advice. Of all the boats I've looked at, the Bar Crusher appears to have the highest standard of manufacture, so kudos to them for having pride in their work. On the flip side, the Bar Crushers I've looked at (575 and 615) seem so much smaller than the other craft. ...

Re: Recommendations for 5 to 6 metre aluminium boat to buy
16-18ft, 4.8 to 5.6m fiberglass offers much better value for money. 20ft plus, 6m plus plate alloy becomes a better $$ proposition. In-between can go either way. With your usage with aluminium you need a plate boat not a pressed tinny. A pressed tinny will be thinner lighter etc and is not up to you...

Suggest you try for kings in December to end of Feb.
Your boat might not be suitable to head out to white rock.

Re: VIC COUPLE FINED IN WA
They did not have to attend as they plead guilty but the law seems to be beyond stupid. You are allowed a maximum possession limit of 10kg of fillets per person. One decent pelagic fish will exceed this. So you can legally catch it and keep it but the moment you fillet it you are breaking the law....
