I got a decent pinkie at the Warmies yesterday, around 4pm (low tide was about 5pm), using pippies on a paternoster. He swallow the hook about 60 seconds before a container ship went by! It was all happening.

Re: Brighton Pier mega land based fishing thread
Hah, yeah, I don't know how lucky that bream felt while I was eating it, but I guess the quick end of a knife through the gills is better than slowly starving. the trick now is to catch another one the same way

Re: Brighton Pier mega land based fishing thread
I got my weirdest catch on the Brighton breakwall last night. I was fishing back towards the boats, and my bomb sinker got snagged on something. Re: Hawaiian Sling

The fish have all been too fast for my sling so far, but with some more stalking practise, I'll get one sooner or la...

G’day all
I’m new to the forum and reasonably new to fishing. Last summer, I got into snorkelling, and by now, can predictably spear a ray with my sling, and get a feed of abalone during the season. Over winter, I scored some cheap rods and hand reels, and started land-based bait fishing, usually on the Sandr...
