Any gars around Seaford pier?
Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone has hit Seaford pier recently and if any garfish around there? The kid has been asking for fishing for a long time and I feel the garfish might be great for him to have a bit of fun. I haven't been there for a while so not sure what's going around there. I know long...

Re: Why loads of Garfish down there but no bites?
Could be your bait as well some days they only take maggots. Hi mate, that might be the one reason too, another guy told me the same thing yesterday. I just wondering where to get these maggots. where can I buy it? I would rather not leave a piece of meat out there to flies, which may be a bit disg...

I reckon it should be similar to what I use, I use two hooks and some others use only one, with a pencil float.smokin_reels wrote:Do gars hit a sabiki jig?

I went there a few times mate, and saw many guys targeting gars and salmon. A buddy told me gars can be caught all year round down there.Lightningx wrote:Hi mate, has it been quite consistent there with the gars?

Re: Why loads of Garfish down there but no bites?
When this has happened to me I've had success by casting out a bit further. It's like the closer they are the more spooky they are when the water is clear and calm. Hi Sinsemilla, now I guess this might be the point. About 6 guys there were fishing garfish, but only one caught 5, and most of the fi...

Why loads of Garfish down there but no bites?
Hi all, Today I went to Seaford pier with two friends thinking to catch some garfish. We used fish oil plus bread crumb as berley, silver fish as bait, No. 10 long shank hooks, try 1m - 2m depth, we could see loads of them down there, but no bites at all. We only caught 1 garfish for whole day. We e...
