I think it is good. I have done a lot of shopping in 2012 when Kmart was selling brand name fishing stuff at 1/3 price to clear the shelves for their own inferior brand.

Just a quick update. Got 2 used Left Hand Wind index plates locally and did a quick partial LH Alvey conversion. Yesterday I was casting and trolling from Yak for almost 2 hours with modified 500C5. Easy one hand casting and no issues with winding. No worries about saltwater reel damage. Happy as a ...

Thanks russellh2. I already turned the reel by 180 deg on the rod. However it was built to turn by 90 Deg (for casting) only anti-clockwise while I need it clockwise - so the spool can face the rod tip direction for cast.
