Well done for sticking it out, was freezing as well so only fished for short while, so did most others fishing there. Sure that if catching on that day they wouldn't have nicked off.

That rain did stuff the river for a while as which usually clears after a few days after rain, it wasn't in the 3 days we were there. Neighbours said it absolutely pelted and was great putting out the fire but apparently there was land slips on road between Harrietville & Mt Hotham in a 6km stretch ...

Just got back from Bright. River murky and ash from bushfires and the down pour they had last Wednesday has stuffed it for a while at least in the upper reaches. Feeder streams and Buckland looked ok.

Well done 'falsecasting', I didn't get out in evening nor that far up, just early morning but as soon as sun hit it was b... hot. I've been going to Bright for some 35 years but can't remember it being this hot, was there mid Novenmber and it was already warm, mowed the grass then and haven't needed...

Just got back from there and it is tough fishing as has been very hot recently (in 40's) and yes watertemp up in Ovens & Buckland and too many people around cooling themselves in just about every waterhole. Did manage 1 good rainbow on brown beadhead nymph in Ovens near Smoko after what felt like ma...

Edgewater one looks like off bike track as bike track all around lake. Pitty didn't put launching into Edgewater nice moorings at south end hardly ever any boats there, except Melbourne Cup Day
